New Year's Baby Born At Freeman

JOPLIN -- Barrett Peters arrived at 4:38 p.m. on Jan. 1 at Freeman Hospital West. This precious baby was welcomed by parents Kenny and Nicole Peters of Joplin. Barrett weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces, and measured 20.5 inches in length.

Barrett, along with all babies born at Freeman Hospital West on New Year's Day, received a stuffed animal from Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Additionally, the first baby born each year receives a special baby goody bag courtesy of Freeman Health System.

Freeman Maternity Center features two obstetric surgery suites, board-certified obstetricians, certified nurse midwives, expanded services for high-risk pregnancies with board-certified perinatologists and full-time neonatal nurse practitioners for sick and prematurely born infants.
