MCHS All Conference Athletes

Several members of the McDonald County High School fall sports teams have received post-season honors.

Leading the way are five members of the Lady Mustang Big 8 Conference champion softball team who earned first-team all-conference honors and one player being named to the second team.

First-team honors went to pitchers Alexa Hopkins and Madeline McCall, catcher Kylie Helm, shortstop Chloe Colvin and centerfielder Rita Santillan. Third baseman Whitney Kinser was named to the second team.

Helm was named the conference's Player of the Year, and Coach Skyler Rawlins was named Coach of the Year.

Helm, Hopkins, Colvin, Kinser and Santillan also received first-team all-district honors, while McCall was named to the second team.

Football

McDonald County football players earning first-team Big 8 West honors were running back Oakley Roessler and guard Elliott Wolfe.

Wide receivers Reece Cooper and Boston Dowd both earned second-team honors.

Offensive tackle Will Gordon earned honorable mention honors.

On the defensive side, Joe Brown received second-team honors as a linebacker, while Wolfe was given honorable mention as a tackle.

Cassville quarterback Shannon Haney was named the Offensive Player of the Year, while Lamar linebacker Travis Bailey was the Defensive Player of the Year.

Big 8 West champion Cassville coach Lance Parnell was named the Coach of the Year.

Soccer

McDonald County had one soccer player named first team all-conference.

Jeobany Marcos was named to the first team as a midfielder.

Earning second-team honors was Eh Doh Say as a forward. Carlos Marcos (forward) and Jaw Soe (midfielder) received honorable mention honors.

Jason Puente of Monett was named the conference's Player of the Year, while Mike Hines of Catholic was named Coach of the Year.
