Business Reporters Look At Commerce Possibilities In Noel

A team of reporters from a Missouri online business publication is researching business startup opportunities in Noel and the support a local chamber of commerce can lend.

Missouri Business Alert reporter Kyle LaHucik recently contacted the McDonald County Chamber of Commerce about the type of support it can give to new businesses.

LaHuick and a team of reporters from Columbia visited with chamber officials in late October to gather information. The team is exploring business communities across the state and looking at Noel in particular.

In an introductory letter sent to the chamber, LaHuick said the team is measuring the conditions for starting and growing new businesses in town, considering six components of the community that affect establishment and growth of early-stage businesses.

One of the components is support organizations like the Chamber, he wrote.

Chamber executive director Charla Brewer met with the team at the chamber's satellite office in Anderson, according to information released by the Chamber. During their time in McDonald County, the team of reporters interviewed Brewer, visited the McDonald County Historical Museum and saw several places in Noel.

The team chose Noel for several reasons and will be sharing information in the future, according to Brewer.

In the meantime, the team is asking for input from residents. It is hoped that a short survey, on the Chamber's Facebook page, will help to gather additional information.
