Brewer Named New Chamber Executive Director

Charla Brewer has been named the new McDonald County Chamber of Commerce executive director.

Plans have been in development for some time, but the hiring agreement was finalized last week, Brewer said on Saturday.

Brewer will work part-time in the executive director capacity. She is one of three partners in the software company Blu3 Management Group, has worked with chamber members, is involved in the community and recently became a McDonald County resident.

She also works part-time on the weekends for Big Elk Floats & Camping.

"I wear many hats," she said, adding that her personality seems to thrive on staying busy and organized.

As the new director, Brewer said she is excited about ideas for the chamber and how to increase exposure and business.

The chamber has many plans to roll out in coming months to build success.

"The efforts for the next few months will be centered on earning new memberships," Brewer said. "We'll be focused on building a connection with our existing members and making sure they each know and understand the value of their membership moving forward."

Officials also will be promoting tourism in the county, she added.
