Valentine's Shopping Event Set For Feb. 3, 4

A special event set for Feb. 3 and 4 will showcase area businesses and help McDonald County neighbors shop for Valentine's Day.

The event, Valentine's Gifting One Stop Shop, is hosted by the SMW One Stop Shop. The special shopping days are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, and Sunday, Feb. 4, at the Pineville Community Center.

Seventeen local, small businesses will feature their wares, including LuLarose, SeneGence, Monat, Young Living Essential Oils, homemade soaps, Sister Fudge, Lilla Rose hair clips and more.

Organizer Chelsea Vickers, who works with business partner Morgan Pierce, says her main purpose is to help showcase small businesses.

The event is the second one the company has hosted in Pineville, Vickers said.

Admission is free.

Shoppers also will be able to purchase food at the Sunshine Shack Food Truck, which will be on hand on Saturday. Owner Aaron Crum said the menu is island infused and inspired. Shoppers can choose from a variety of gourmet burgers, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and loaded tots.

In addition to the Pineville event, sponsors are also hosting other area events. In March, SWM One Stop Shop plans to host the bridal expo on March 24 at Indigo Sky Casino, Vickers said.
