Thinclads Finish Middle Of The Pack

Alexander Guadarrama took 149th place out of 372 runners to lead the McDonald County High School boys' cross country team at the Southern Stampede held Sept. 17 at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin.

Guadarrama finished the 5000-meter race in a time of 18:04.1. Jacob McCracken of West Plains was the boys' individual winner in a time of 15:16.4.

Rounding out the results for McDonald County are as follows: James King, 185th, 18:21.30; David Lazalde, 196th, 18:28.6; Truman Craig, 197th, 18:28.9; Jackson Behm, 208th, 18:35.6; Tyler Moritz, 271st, 19:38.6; Garrett Spears, 296th, 20:03.8; Lane Ziemianin, 303rd, 20:12.70; and Drew Landers, 331st, 21:18.0.

The McDonald County boys finished in 30th place out of the 46 teams entered. Webb City won the boys' team competition with Fayetteville, Ark., taking second.

Girls

In the girl's race, McDonald County had only three runners in the field.

Addy Mick led the Lady Mustangs with a 149th place in a time of 21:58.56. She was followed by teammates Andrea Creason in 193rd in a time of 22:43.74 and Cassi Dowd in 267th in 24:29.83.

Callie Logue of Girard, Kan., won the girls' race in a time of 17:18.14.

Junior Varsity

McDonald County had three entrants in the boys' junior varsity race, led by a 177th place finish in a time of 21:31.56 by Bryce Berryhill. Rounding out the results for McDonald County were Anthony Deering, 234th, 23:24.72; and Tyler Jackson, 258th, 25:39.95.

Haddon Spikereit won the race in a time of 17:21.67.

McDonald County's next race is set for Sept. 24 at East Newton. Races begin at 10 a.m.
