From Staff Reports

Emily Paul, first-year agriculture instructor, was recognized with the Jess Clonts Memorial Scholarship for her teaching accomplishments during the Missouri Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association Conference in Springfield this summer.

Paul is the daughter of Jim and Shelley Paul. She graduated from McDonald County High School in 2011 and the University of Missouri at Columbia in 2015. She is currently an agriculture teacher and Future Farmers of America co-advisor for Miller R2 High School in Miller, Mo.

This recognition was given to Missouri's top new agriculture education teacher based upon an application, a written response to specific questions and an oral interview. The recipient must be a first-year agriculture teacher who has signed their second-year contract to continue teaching agriculture education.

Paul was recognized at the MVATA Banquet by Northcutt Financial Services, who presented a plaque and a cash award.

MVATA is a professional agriculture education teacher association with 505 members serving 337 schools.
