The McDonald County Lady Mustang softball team, 20-6 overall and 5-2 in the Big 8 Conference, was recently rewarded with five players selected to the Big 8 Conference all-star team.
Earning first-team honors were Paige Jones, senior pitcher, Kylie Helm, sophomore catcher, and Cloee Helm, junior outfielder. Both Helmswere unanimous selections.
Receiving honorable mention honors were Hanna Schmit, senior second baseman, and Kali McClain, senior outfielder.
Haley Williams, senior pitcher from conference champion Monett, was selected as the conference's player of the year while Lady Cubs coach Ty Goetz was named coach of the year.
