Youth Wrestling Registration
McDonald County Youth Wrestling registration dates are set for Monday, Oct. 24, and Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Mazzio's in Anderson from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sign-up cost is $45 (this includes club T-shirt). All first-year wrestlers will need to bring a copy of their birth certificate. Practices start Tuesday, Nov. 1, at McDonald County High School's small gymnasium and lasts from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Contact Bobby at 417-456-2723 for additional information.
Trunk or Treat
Southwest City Commercial Club invites everyone to the "Trunk or Treat" and Costume Contest at Blankenship Park starting at 6 p.m. Halloween night, Monday, Oct. 31. The evening begins with a free wiener roast and Trunk or Treat. The community is invited to bring their cars or lawn chairs to hand out treats to children (parking opens at 5 p.m.). The costume contest starts at 7 p.m. with prizes awarded in the following age groups: 0-2 years, 3-5 years, 6-8 years, 9-11 years, and 12 years to adult. Prizes will also be awarded to the top three participants overall.
Third Friday Benefit Dinner
Pineville/Jane American Legion Post 392 will be having their Third Friday Benefit Dinner Oct. 21, starting at 4:30 p.m. The dinner will be prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary and will feature pork tenderloin, salad, vegetable, potatoes, rolls, dessert and drinks. A donation of $7 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under is requested. Everyone is welcome, and carry-outs are available. The Legion building is located on Jessie James Road next to the Cornerstone Bank in Pineville.
Senior Dinner/Dance
The Stella Senior Center will serve a breakfast buffet at 5:30 p.m. Friday evening for a $5 donation. At 7 p.m., dance to music by "The McDonald County Playboys" for $3 donation.
Women's Chorus Invitation
Bella Vista Women's Chorus invites singers from McDonald County join them. All are welcome with no tryouts or experience needed. Directed by Dr. Larry Zehring, BVWC performs classical, pop, folk and show tunes for local clubs and events. Rehearsals are at 12:45 p.m. on Mondays in the music room of the Bella Vista First United Methodist Church. The chorus is available to sing for clubs and organizations.
