County Library Book Sale Oct. 17

The McDonald County Library Fall Book Sale will be held the week of Oct. 17 in the community room of the Main Library, at 808 Bailey Road in Pineville.

The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, through Thursday, Oct. 20; from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21; and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 22. On Wednesday and Thursday select items will be half-price and Friday and Saturday will allow customers to fill an entire bag for only a dollar.

Bargains abound at this sale with:

• Hardcover books‚ $­­­­­1

• Children's hardcover books -- 50 cents

• Softcover books (trade paperbacks) -- 50 cents

• Mass market paperbacks for children or adults -- 25 cents

• DVDs -- $2

• CDs -- $2

• Audiobooks on CD -- $2

• Audiobooks on cassette -- $1

• Coffee table and specialty books priced as marked.

All of the money raised will be used to support the library. Funds will purchase new books and help pay for special events for children, teens and adults. During the spring 2016 book sale, almost $1,300 was raised.

"The fall book sale is a great time to get a jump-start on holiday shopping," said library director Jeana Gockley. "We will have many items that would work well for gifts, so community members are encouraged to drop in and stock up."

Donations are being accepted at the main library located at 808 Bailey Road, Pineville, Mo. Gockley requests that only new or clean, gently used items are dropped off. Supporters are not only collecting books, but also, DVDs, CDs and audiobooks.
