"Small Steps to Health and Wealth" Program Dec. 1

CASSVILLE -- Saving money, losing weight, getting out of debt, and starting an exercise program all have something in common according to Lindsey Stevenson, nutrition and health specialist with University of Missouri Extension.

"Many Americans set a goal to save money, lose weight, get out of debt or start an exercise program but most fall short. The tasks can seem daunting and unachievable with every little obstacle or setback that comes along," said Stevenson.

Improving a person's financial or physical health does not have to happen overnight.

"By taking simple steps to modify one's lifestyle or behavior, financial stability and physical wellness can be achieved and sustained over time," said Stevenson.

The "Small Steps to Health and Wealth" program will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Barry County Courthouse, 700 Main, Cassville.

The program is free and is designed to help motivate attendees to stick to and reach goals. Topics to be covered include tracking your current behavior, thinking balance not sacrifice, saying no to super-sizing and more.

Call the Barry County Extension Center at 417-847-3161 to sign up for the free event. Pre-registration is requested to ensure adequate snacks are available.
