Junior High Wrestlers Win Tournament

Gabriel Selby and Jr. Eliam both went 5-0 to lead the McDonald County Junior High School wrestling team to the championship of the Bill Kirkman Junior High Wrestling Tournament held Saturday in Joplin.

McDonald County avenged an earlier defeat in a pool match to Frontenac with a 54-46 win over the Raiders for the championship.

McDonald County beat Carl Junction 48-45 in the semifinals after going 3-1 in pool matches. The Mustangs beat Diamond 54-45 and Joplin 47-32 while falling to Frontenac 49-48.

McDonald County's next match is at Carthage on Dec. 1 against the Tigers and Carl Junction before its closes out the season on Dec. 3 at the Seneca Jr. High Wrestling Tournament.
