Are You Ready?

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness, 1 Thessalonians 5:4-5. Dennis Yotter welcomed the church and made announcements: We had an exciting week of VBS, thank you to all the teachers and workers who helped make it a success! Also, Ladies Bible Study is Thursday 1:30 p.m. at the church. Megan Yotter played "Jesus Loves Me" during the penny drill and Derrick Woodard and Jake Yotter received the morning tithes and offerings. Prayer requests and praises were lifted up...we are in God's Hands and He watches over us, protects us, and guides us. Megan and Tara Stephens led the worship service with "Somebody Loves Me," "He Hideth My Soul," and "Without Him."

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come, Matthew 24:42. Jesus tells us over and over again to watch and be ready for His return. He tells us His return to earth will take many by surprise, like a thief in the night, and many will weep and gnash their teeth. Revelation reveals the wrath of God to those who are unrepentant. Yes, the Lord is not willing that any should perish, He is long-suffering, and merciful...but one day, Jesus, the Holy and Just King of kings and Lord of lords will return to establish His kingdom. He makes all things new, heals, and restores all things, and one day sin will come to an end.

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory, Matthew 24:29-30. We know the Lord will return soon...do you live for Him? Our lives are to be a shining example to others when we live in obedience to Christ; we reflect the truth to those lost in darkness, so they too may find the joy and peace of salvation in Him. Pastor Scott gave the invitation and Mark Alumbaugh dismissed the congregation in prayer.
