If you see a small white schnauzer in the vicinity of Highway 59 between Anderson and Lanagan, or anywhere in the McDonald County, please call Angel Stevens at 417-772-4094. Stevens believes someone stole her pet.

The dog's name is Bentley. He is two years old and disappeared Sunday, Jan. 4.

Stevens is also very concerned about other missing dogs in the vicinity since her neighbors have communicated there is an unusually high number of dogs gone from the area.

Bentley, Stevens said, does not like riding in vehicles and would never get into a vehicle. She said he never wonders off and he is a good watchdog who barks at unfamiliar people or animals. He is not wearing a collar.

Stevens contacted the McDonald County Sheriff's Office regarding her missing dog.

Sheriff Michael Hall said that he encourages people to report matters such as this so his office will be aware. He said a lot of times regarding incidents such as this missing dog, it is hard to investigate unless someone gets a vehicle description and/or tag number. Hall advised that people watch out for suspicious vehicles that do not belong in that area and to call 911 to report it.

Hall said chances are pretty low catching anyone stealing animals, especially without vehicle descriptions and if tracker information is not available.

Stevens said there is a reward for anyone who returns her dog, Bentley and no questions will be asked.
