Young Outdoorsmen United is hosting "Featherfest" on March 7 for local youth ages 10-18.
The event will feature pheasant, quail and chucker for participants to harvest. Featherfest is designed for both beginner and experienced hunters. The planned hunt will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on private property located three miles west of Pineville.
In addition to the guided game-bird hunt, youth will also have the opportunity to practice wing shooting at clay targets prior to their scheduled hunt. Guides, dogs, firearms, ammunition, targets and game birds will be provided. Cost is $2 per youth or free to all current members.
Interested youth may request an application to register for participation by e-mail at [email protected] or calling 417-439-8594. Thirty youth will be selected to participate through a random drawing. Deadline to register is March 2.
Young Outdoorsmen United is a McDonald county based organization aimed at, "building opportunities for local youth to enjoy the outdoors through hunting, fishing, shooting, and other outdoor skills."
