Two people are in police custody after a day of moving boxes turned into a day of doing time.

On Saturday, Aug. 21, Lanagan police chief Chris Creekmore responded to a call of theft/stealing at 3715 E. Highway 76 in Lanagan. While moving out of her mother's house, Anna McMillan and husband Kevin McMillan were reported to be taking items that didn't belong to them from the residence.

When Creekmore arrived, he says that multiple prescription pill bottles for Oxycodone and Xanax were found in and around the property. Drug paraphernalia, used for injecting medication, was also found on site.

At the time of the incident, Anna had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear and attempting to flee the scene.

Deputies from the McDonald County Sheriff's Office and the neighboring town of Noel provided mutual aid to Creekmore.

Anna is currently being held on charges of theft/stealing, possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana, operated motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner -- involving an accident, and DWI
