A Great Change Occurs When We Are Saved

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

Bryon Sherman welcomed the congregation and made announcements: Ladies Bible study is 1:30 p.m. Monday at the church and Fall Fest is scheduled for Sept. 28. Sign up quickly if you would like to help.

Megan Yotter played, "Jesus Loves Me" during the penny drill and Bill Thomas and Steve Spears received the morning tithes and offerings. Prayers and praises were lifted up. God hears us and we must also learn to listen to Him. He speaks in a still, small voice. Tara Stephens and Megan led the worship service with "When We All Get to Heaven," "Without Him" and "What a Day That Will Be."

Dennis Yotter brought the message, Changed, But How Much? When we are saved by Jesus Christ, a great change occurs. We no longer have an attitude of fear and despair, but of hope and a promise. We never stop growing, just as a tiny seed or grain is planted, it grows and produces fruit, much different than when we began.

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in corruption: 1 Corinthians15:42

We become a new man, a new creation in Christ and leave our old ways behind. During this journey we learn to trust in God and not lean on our own understanding.

The change in our life is not hidden and not temporary, but it becomes our way of life and a part of our service to Christ. The more of God's word we read and hide in our heart, the more that precious word will help us throughout our daily life. Satan will attempt to destroy us, destroy the tiny seed of faith, but God will help us in the battle.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2

God has such a great love for us, for He gave His only son to save us from sin. Dennis dismissed us in prayer.
