Post 392 Ends Season With 12-12 Record

McDonald County Post 392 swept a doubleheader over Lamar Saturday behind Jaime Hanke's four-hitter in the first game and Jarrett Sanny's walk-off single in the second.

Hanke led Post 392 to a 6-1 win in the opener, allowing one unearned run on four hits, two walks while striking out eight.

Emitt Dalton, Brock Burnett and Evan Acuff all had two hits while Trenton Frazier and Sanny both had one hit.

In the second game, Sanny singled with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the fifth inning to give McDonald County a 4-3 win. Sanny's clutch hit made a winner out of Lakota Rose, who worked the top half of the inning in relief of D.J. Madewell and Dillion Lance.

Madewell went the first three innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits. Lance worked one inning, giving up two runs on three hits before Rose worked a scoreless fifth.

Hanke and Sanny had two hits while Dalton and Burnett added one each to lead the McDonald County offense.

Webb City

McDonald County split a doubleheader with Webb City July 9 at MCHS. Webb City won the first game 11-3 while Post 392 took the nightcap with a 3-2 win.

In the opener, Dagan Stites took the loss, allowing eight earned runs in four innings on 11 hits and five walks. Burnett went the final three innings, giving up two earned runs on three hits while striking out three.

Hanke led the offense with two hits and two RBIs while Drew Harmon had Post 392's only other hit.

Seth Shockley went four innings, allowing just two runs on four hits to lead Post 392 to a 3-2 win in the second game. Rose got the save, striking out one without allowing a hit in one inning of relief.

Dalton Woods had two hits, but it was Shockley's two-run single in the bottom of the fourth that gave McDonald County its first lead in the two games.

Monett

Monett swept a doubleheader July 8 in Monett, taking the first game 7-2 before claiming a 15-2 decision in the second.

Madewell took the loss in the opener, allowing six earned runs on eight hits in six innings while striking out two. Lance gave up one run in one inning of relief, walking three and striking out three.

Evan Acuff had three hits while Mason Hendrix and Hanke had two each to lead the Post 392 offense.

Hendrix took the loss in the second game, giving up five runs on 10 hits in six innings. Lance allowed four runs on three walks and Hanke gave up six runs on eight hits.

Hanke, Burnett and Acuff accounted for the three McDonald County hits.

Joplin

Joplin swept a doubleheader Monday night at MCHS to drop Post 392 to 12-12 to end the 2014 season.

Madewell took the loss in the opener, allowing eight runs on six hits in four innings in the 16-5 loss. Burnett worked one inning, giving up seven runs on just three hits, but three walks and two errors helped account for the big inning.

McDonald County was led at the plate by Evan Acuff, who had a career night to end his senior season. Acuff hit two home runs and walked once in three at bats, driving in four of the five Post 392 runs. Hanke added two hits while Harmon and Sanny had one hit apiece.

Joplin claimed a 15-4 decision in the nightcap. Stites took the loss, allowing five runs in three innings. Lance worked one inning of scoreless relief before Joplin scored 10 runs in the fifth inning off of Rose and Shockley.

Hanke had a double and three RBIs while Stites, Burnett, Sanny and Acuff all had one hit.
