About 25 people ran with the McDonald County High School cross country team in a 5K held Saturday in Anderson as part of Mustang Pride Day.

Prior to the race, Darbi Stancell, MCHS cross country coach, discussed her team, saying it might be the best boys and girls squads she has ever had.

But Stancell said she received some bad news the day before that confirmed the Mustangs have been bumped up to Class 4, meaning they will compete against the biggest schools in the state in districts, sectionals and the state championships.

No results were kept of the cross country team finishes.
