Sell All You Have, Give To The Poor

And Jesus looking upon them saith, with men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible. Mark 10:27

Dennis Yotter welcomed the congregation and made announcements. Ladies Bible study is held on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. at the church; Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m. Friday; and there will be no evening service on Easter Sunday.

A video by Wayne Goddard was played during the penny drill showing all the little children learning about Jesus in Paraguay. Mark Alumbaugh and Jack Harp received the morning tithes and offerings. We heard many praises of the goodness of God and how He watches over us every day and also heard many prayer requests for the sick and hurting; remember one another in prayer. Tara Stephens led the worship service with, "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder," "He Leadeth Me" and "He Touched Me." Dennis welcomed Joshua Branham to bring the message this morning.

And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? Mark 10:17

This one question perplexes all mankind and the rich, young ruler was no different. He had kept the commandments regarding his fellowman and he regarded Jesus with authority, but did he see Jesus as Lord? Jesus always looks beyond our outward circumstances and into the condition of our heart. His answer was simple, sell all you have and give to the poor (let go of what you love more than me) and you will have treasures in heaven, but the man went away grieved because his possessions were great.

Another man wanted to see Jesus so much he ran ahead of the crowd and climbed up into a tree. He was the chief tax collector, very wealthy, but not a popular man and Jesus astonished everyone when He asked to be a guest in his house. And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. Luke 19:8

Two very different outcomes for this question of eternal life; this choice belongs to each and every one of us. Jesus paid our debt to sin, overcame death and has prepared a place for us and is waiting for us to answer. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10

Joshua Branham gave the invitation and Dennis dismissed us in prayer.
