Junior High Football, Volleyball Split Pairs of Games

The McDonald County High School junior high football teams split a pair of games against Seneca on Sept. 12 at MCHS.

The seventh graders dropped a 32-6 decision. The Mustangs' lone score came on a 21-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Logan Myrick.

The McDonald County eighth grade defeated the Indians, 16-0, behind the running of quarterback Destyn Dowd.

Dowd got the Mustangs on the scoreboard first with a 60-yard touchdown run. He threw to Tucker Walters for the conversion. Dowd sealed the win with an eight-yard touchdown run and the conversion.

McDonald County hosts Lamar on Sept. 26.

Volleyball

The McDonald County seventh grade volleyball team split a pair of matches on Sept. 14 at Seneca.

McDonald County claimed a 25-12, 25-23 win over Cassville, but dropped a 25-16, 25-17 decision to Seneca.

The seventh grade B team beat Cassville 25-21, 25-14 and won the only set played against Seneca by a 25-21 score.

McDonald County opened its season on Sept. 10 against Nevada at home.

The seventh grade A team dropped a 25-8, 25-15 decision while the B team won 25-16, 13-25, 15-9.

Nevada added a 25-13, 25-7 win in the eighth grade A team match and a 25-13, 25-12 win in the B team match.

McDonald County hosted Aurora on Sept. 16 before traveling to Lamar on Sept. 19.
