Junior High Cross Country Teams Place At Nixa Invitational

Holton Keith took 12th place to lead the McDonald County seventh grade boys' team at the Nixa Junior High Cross Country Invitational held Sept. 26 at Nixa High School.

Keith finished the two-mile course in a time of 13:11.2.

Next for the Mustangs was Christian Howerton in 25th place in a time of 13:30.9.

Rounding out the results for McDonald County were Noah Howerton, 37th, 14:05.9; Kylian Gottfried, 72nd, 15:24.1; Kaden Most, 82nd, 15:44.0; Darin Wofford, 147th, 18:25.9; and Caleb Cline, 160th, 20:21.8.

Jace Shulty of Webb City led the field of 173 in a time of 12:19.0.

Carthage won the team title with 61 points, followed by Branson with 69, Joplin 71, Pershing 98, Nixa 106, Ozark 170, McDonald County 207, Lamar 246, Harrison 249, Springfield Catholic 269, Willard 279, Republic 318, Webb City 336, Hickory Hills 422 and Springfield Lutheran 423.

Seventh Grade Girls

Eva Habert led the McDonald County seventh grade girls with a 77th place finish in a time of 17:43.3.

Chloe Burk was next for the Lady Mustangs, taking 117th in a time of 19:54.9, followed by Paige Owens in 130th in 20:58.1.

Chloe Wood of Neosho won the race in a time of 13:26.4.

McDonald County did not have a full team to compete in the team competition.

Eighth Grade Boys

Gunner Cooper took 19th in a time of 12:47.3 and Lane Pratt was 26th in 13:02.4 to lead the McDonald County eighth grade boys' team.

Rounding out the results for McDonald County were Carson Brock 36th, 13:24.6; Dylan Ferdig, 68th, 14:14.0; Tyler Rothrock, 84th, 14:41.2; Caleb Garvin 90th, 14:43.9; and Ayden Bell, 140th, 16:10.8.

Tristen Bough of Branson beat a field of 175 to win the race in a time of 11:21.8.

Pershing Middle School won the team title with 89 points, followed by Neosho with 106, Republic 129, Nixa 141, Branson 146, Ozark 155, McDonald County 155, Lamar 240, Carthage 247, Joplin 252, Webb City 273, Hickory Hills 281, Willard 362, Springfield Catholic 363, Carl Junction 370, Marshfield 376 and Spokane 420.

Eighth Grade Girls

Haley Allen took 25th in a time of 14:52.6 to lead the McDonald County eighth grade girls' efforts.

Next for the Lady Mustangs was Madison Burton in 46th in a time of 15:44.8, followed by Jaslyn Billups-Wright in 90th in a time of 17:54.7.

Isabella Johnson of Nixa won the race in a time of 13:18.7.

McDonald County did not field a full team.

McDonald County was at Lamar on Oct. 1 before it travels to East Newton High School on Oct. 5.
