We're In Spiritual Warfare With Evil

We had to miss service this Sunday due to the weather, so I decided to use our message from last week. We had a wonderful spirit-filled service, but I did not get the news sent on time. Guess God knew we would need it for this week. For whatever reason -- we were blessed by the word of the Lord once again.

Sister Louine Gardner sang a beautiful song titled, "Hear the Blessed Savior Calling." What a heart-warming thought that our Lord would call unto us with his voice of love. Sister Joyce Walters had a birthday and was so glad to be in the house of the Lord and among God's people. We welcome Joe Divine this morning and pray he will come back to worship with us.

Pastor Bob Cartwright reminded us that we are in spiritual warfare against the evil one. Satan would do anything to destroy God's children. He will come at us as long as we will allow him. We have the power to resist him. We just need to put it into action. Job 1:6 tells us that Satan approached Job and wanted God to let him torment him to the point that he would curse God. Well, he was allowed to go just so far but not to take Job's life -- always a war with Satan. Second Corinthians 10:3-5, warns us that we walk in the flesh and war against the carnal man. The word speaks in so many scriptures about this warfare. Ephesians 6:10, tells us to put on the whole armour of God that we may stand against the wiles of the devil. Why? Because, as it is in the 12th verse, we find that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of darkness and the rulers that dwell in the darkness, against spiritual wickedness in High places. We must have all that God offers for a defense in order to withstand in the day of evil.

And then He said, "That when you do all that you know to do; stand and hold fast the promises of the word." In Hebrews, we are to strive for perfection so that we can win the battle and grow in the Lord. Colossians 10:11, assures us that we are strengthened according to the power of God.

Pastor gave us many examples of wars, however, they were never fought alone. Jesus said he would never leave us nor forsake us. Praise God his promises are true. We closed in prayer, and the spirit swept over the congregation with a sweet assurance that God was surely in this place. Come to Cove Mission of Hope in Lanagan and meet a church family that loves each other and lifts Jesus up for the world to see. "God Bless and Keep You" is our prayer.

Welcome to everyone who would like to be a part of this congregation and join in worship services where Pastor Bob Cartwright ministers the truth. Plan to attend and be blessed by Bible teachings every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Bible study at 6 p.m. every Wednesday. All services are held at Cove Mission of Hope Church, located at 53 MO-59, southwest of Lanagan -- the church on top of the hill with a steeple reaching toward the heavens.
