Three JV Mustangs Lead At Seneca Wrestling Tournament

Third places by Jordan Meador (138), Junior Teriek (145) and Justin Smith (132) led the McDonald County High School junior varsity wrestling team at the Seneca JV Wrestling Tournament held Jan. 5 at Seneca High School.

Meador won his first three matches by pin (Dalton Kocher, Carl Junction; Quinton Lunsford, Southeast Cherokee; and Austin Souder, Frontenac) before losing by pin in Round Four to Eli Sneed of Carthage. Meador then dropped his final match when he was pinned by Ben Wirtel of Marshfield.

Teriek's path to third place was a polar opposite to Meador. He lost his first match by pin to Phillip Liethaueser of Carl Junction and his second by a 9-7 decision to Jackson Ward of Webb City before reeling off three wins in his final three matches.

Teriek began his winning streak with a major decision (19-9) over Josh Tofflemire of Springfield Kickapoo. He then pinned Tretin Raney of Nevada before pinning Lewis Hoyt of Marshfield in his final match.

Smith went 2-2 on the day at 132 pounds. He pinned Houston Collard of Webb City for his first win and then pinned Asa Wilson of Nevada for his second. His losses came by pin to Jeremy Waller of Springfield Glendale and by a 7-2 decision to Brexton Logan of Carthage.

Austin Reece went 2-3 on the day at 113 pounds with pins over Gage Gordon of Carl Junction and Braylin Brooks of Nevada.

Ryan Donica pinned Nathan Leder of Fayetteville for his only win against three losses at 113 pounds while Jacob Owen went 0-5 at 120 pounds.
