Second-grade students from Anderson Elementary School were able to visit Bluff Dweller's cave on Friday, May 4. Students and teachers enjoyed a beautiful day filled with science concepts, history lessons and a picnic lunch.

Groups took turns on the hour-long guided tour of this stunning cave and were able to observe both bats and salamanders because the cave was alive with water from the recent rains.

Students were also able to pan for gems in a new sluice box and gain additional insight into the history of the cave in the onsite museum.

Everyone had a great day of fun and learning. Transportation for this trip was funded by a grant from Missouri Department of Conservation.
