Mustangs Take Pride

Mustang Pride Day for McDonald County High School's 2018 fall sports teams will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, at McDonald County High School.

A cross-country race for boys and girls in grades 3-8 will kick off activities at 8:30 a.m. The race will begin on the track at the football field.

From 9-10:30 a.m., the Lady Mustang volleyball team will hold an intra-squad scrimmage.

Also beginning at 9 a.m., there will be a junior high and a peewee cheer clinic held at Anderson Middle School.

The Lady Mustang softball team will host a three-team jamboree beginning at 10 a.m. at the softball field. Teams scheduled to play in addition to the Lady Mustangs are East Newton and Nevada.

Beginning at 11:30 a.m., all fall sports teams, including junior high and peewee, will introduce their players for the upcoming season.

Mustang apparel will be available for purchase from County Clothing, Moxie Media and American Sign and Banner. Barkin' Pig Barbecue will be selling lunches.

Other activities include a bounce house, dunk tank, 9-square, face painting, door prizes and obstacle course.

There will be free hot dogs throughout the day, and the first 100 kids 14 and under will receive a free snow cone from Honey's Ice.
