MCHS Golf Team Falters At Joplin Tournament

Carthage's Robbie Sager won a three-man playoff to take individual honors at the Horton Smith Golf Tournament held on April 9 at Shifferdecker Golf Course in Joplin, Mo.

Sager was tied with Levi French of Webb City and Bronson Smith of Nevada with a seven-over-par 78 before winning the playoff.

Tim Shields led McDonald County with a 99, which tied for 37th place. Lily Allman was next for the Mustangs with a 102 to finish in 42nd place. Rounding out the McDonald County results were Walker Keith, 105, 46th; Sam Whitehill, 109, 51st; and Payton McKee, 115, 57th;

Carthage won the team title by three strokes over Webb City with a total of 335.

McDonald County finished in 11th place out of the 13 teams competing.

McDonald County was at the Cassville Invitational on April 10 before hosting Neosho on April 17 at Elk River Golf Course in Noel.
