If You Believe In Christ, You Have Everlasting Life

So many in our morning prayers. So many blessings for prayers answered.

We are keeping, in addition to many others, Jodi, Elaine, our preacher and his family, Jennifer, Oleta Bagby, Sharon Divine, Jennifer -- on our prayer list and keep them in your prayers.

Associate Pastor Ryan Crawford brought the morning's message from John 4:4-13 as he assured all, if you believe in Christ, you have everlasting life. If you don't, you don't. Worship, he assured us, is not just for Sunday morning, but should be every day of our lives. The right way to pray is in spirit and in truth and some worship the wrong way. The devil, he warned us, attacks Christians through money and music. You can't worship God without a relationship. As a Christian, your fellowship can be broken. Thank God that we have a God who wants us to live and that God has a design for our lives.

We were all born lost and He wants us all to be saved. He had a plan for all of us. God is not mocked and cannot be deceived, he is never OK with sin or the appearance of sin. When Christ faced the woman (John 4:4-13) she was thirsty, wicked and wrong. Hopefully we will all learn that drugs, sex, alcohol will not bring us peace, but only Christ will work. Be assured that He can save all regardless. We should live in the world but not of the world and if you are dry, if you are thirsty, remember to put Christ first.

On Sunday, Aug. 17, we will have our traditional potluck. All are invited to join us. Bring a covered dish and join us following morning worship service. Members are reminded that the business meeting will follow the dinner. AWANA resumes Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 6:30 p.m. Transportation is available. Just call 417-223-4433. Saturday, Aug. 16, the Children's Activity Group will be from noon to 2 p.m. If you have questions, see Brother James Story.

Next Sunday is also Staple Sunday as we stock the church pantry with non-perishable foods and household items. For more information contact Kenny and Bobbi Bowers.

We enjoyed a beautiful special by our FBC Trio (Christina Penn and Ryan and Amanda Crawford). "Mercy Walked In" was a special blessing to all. We had a card from the Thacker family. Go to www.firstbaptistchurchpineville.com for more information and remember to tune in to hear our preacher, Dr. Larry Crawford, on Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. on KURM 100.3 FM for an encouraging word.

If you are alone or lonely, we hope you will choose to join us on East 5th Street, just off the northeast corner of the Pineville square, behind the U.S. Bank. We have classes for everyone: nursery up to four years of age; and junior church for five year olds to the third grade. Please pray for our pastors and family: senior pastor Dr. Larry Crawford Jr. and wife, Terry; associate pastor Ryan and wife, Amanda; for the adoption process ("countdown" of four children) and Ruth Crawford and Larry Crawford Sr.

We celebrate the fact that we have four young preachers and enjoyed the evening services as they shared their messages. "Let my teaching fall like rain and my word settle like dew." Deuteronomy 32:2.
