Lady Mustangs 4x800 Relay Wins At 9/10 Stampede

The McDonald County High School girls 4x800 relay was the only event winner for the Mustangs or the Lady Mustangs at the 9/10 Mustang Stampede held Monday night at MCHS.

The relay of Isamar Lazalde, Emily High, Dakota Bunch and Kylie Littlefield won in a time of 11:42.1, over a minute ahead of second place Monett.

Rogers Providence won the team competition with 87 points followed by East Newton in second with 77 points and Carl Junction with 57. McDonald County finished seventh in the 11-team meet with 47 points.

Other Lady Mustang top three finishes included Alyra Wolfe, second shot put, 30-8.5; the 4x200 relay of Britiny Calvert, Destiny Arnall, Kayleigh Jones and Hanna Schmit, second, 2:04.5; the 4x100 relay of Jones, Arnall, Calvert and Riley Rickman, second, 57.6; and High, third, 1600, 6:35.8.

The boys best finish was second place by Billy Leach and Hazma Kamran. Leach was second in the high jump at 5-6 while Kamran took second in the pole vault at 11-6.

Carthage won the boys title with 105 points followed by Neosho with 101 points and Grove, Okla. with 99. McDonald County took sixth with 28.5 points.

Rounding out the boys top three results was Wesley Bethel, third, 1600, 5:15.3.
