Goodman City Council To Discuss Business Next Month

The Goodman City Council will discuss its business next month at its regularly scheduled meeting, as it lacked a quorum on Tuesday night.

All the business will be conducted next month, said Goodman Mayor Greg Richmond. The bills will be paid and ratified at the next city council meeting, he added.

Council members were not expected to discuss any major issues or ordinances, Richmond said.

"There was nothing pressing on the agenda," he said.

With city supervisor David Brodie on vacation, the agenda was lighter than usual, he added. Brodie usually has several items and projects to discuss.

The meeting's agenda will be moved to the next city council meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2.

Meanwhile, city officials and volunteers are preparing for the Third Annual Ozark Orchard Festival, set for Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Goodman ballpark.

A free lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken will be available, along with plenty of fun for families. The festival will feature bouncy houses, games, live music, vendor booths and more.

To volunteer, or to sign up for a vendor booth, contact Goodman City Hall at 417-364-7316.
