For the second straight match, the McDonald County High School soccer team lost in penalty kicks after regulation time ended in a tie.
Carl Junction outscored the Mustangs, 4-2, in penalty kicks to beat the Mustangs on Sept. 6 at MCHS. Regulation play ended in a 1-1 tie. The score stayed 1-1 after two 10-minute overtime periods before Carl Junction claimed the win with its advantage in penalty kicks.
Carl Junction scored first for a 1-0 lead before McDonald County senior Francisco Jasso tied the game at 1-1 entering halftime.
The loss drops McDonald County to 1-2-1 entering its Sept. 13 match at Monett. Game time is at 4:30 p.m.
