MCHS Boys' Track Team Finishes In 11th Place At Seneca

Garrett Spears led the McDonald County High School boys' track team with an 11th place finish at the Seneca High School Cross Country Meet held Sept. 6 in Seneca.

Spears completed the hilly 3.1-mile course in a time of 18:42. Kolin Overstreet of Lamar outdistanced 90 runners to take first in 26:38.

Also earning medals for the Mustangs were Bryce Berryhill in 16th in 19:05 and David Lazalde in 25th in 19:33.

Rounding out the McDonald County results were Jackson Behm in 43rd in 20:32 and Tyler Moritz, 70th, 22:36.

East Newton won the team title with 32 points. Neosho was second with 83, followed by Lamar 102, Cassville 119, McDonald County 136, Monett 137, Marionville 146, Southwest 148, Mount Vernon 201, Purdy 221, McAuley 247 and Diamond 250.

Girls

Addy Mick finished in a time of 25:02 to take 17th place out of 54 runners to lead the Lady Mustangs. Natalie Staib was McDonald County's only other entrant in the girls' race. She also medaled, taking 23rd in 25:23.

Kaci Singer won the race in a time of 21:01 to lead Lamar to the team title.

McDonald County's next race is set for Sept. 15 at the Clinton Invitational at Clinton High School.

Junior Varsity

Garrett Anderson took 13th place in a time of 23:24 in the junior varsity race to top the McDonald County efforts.

Justin Smith was 16th in 24:08, while Eli Jackson was 25th in 26:48.

Junior High

McDonald County finished second out of 10 teams in the junior high boys' division.

Kyler Killian led McDonald County with a fourth-place finish in a time of 9:20. Second for the Mustangs was Remington Ziemianin who took 14th in 9:45. Rounding out the results for McDonald County were Isaac Behm, 19th, 9:53; Levi Smith, 24th, 9:53; Lane Pratt, 40th, 10:37; Cross Spencer, 54th, 11:08; Hunter Leach, 59th, 11:13; Carson Brock, 73rd, 11:52; Caleb Garvin, 79, 11:56; Gunner Cooper, 81st, 12:03; Tucker Walters, 82nd, 12:03; Coty Dumond, 88th, 12:12; Joshua Boles, 104th, 14:00; Mark Wilson, 105th, 14:03; and Dylan Ferdig, 110th, 14:44.

Joplin won the team title, led by Hobbs Campbell's win in a time of 8:48.

Girls

Melysia McCrory took fifth place in 10:58 to the lead the McDonald County girls' junior high team.

Katilyn Townsend was second for McDonald County taking 34th place in 12:26. She was followed by Anna Belle Price in 36th, 12:36; Jasyln Billups-Wright, 74th, 15:38; Brittany Akins, 79th, 16:08; Haley Walczak, 80th, 16:13; and Kaidence Willis, 90th, 17:47.

Kiersten Potter of Lamar won the race in 9:41. Joplin claimed the team title with 40 points. McDonald County took fifth out of eight teams with 116 points.
