Woman Faces Charges Of Stealing Thrift Store Items

A woman who allegedly ransacked the interior of a storage shed at Crosslines will answer to three misdemeanor charges.

Teresa Chadwell has been officially charged in connection with trespassing, stealing and property damage, according to Anderson Police Chief Seth Daniels.

Chadwell's court date for the three counts is Oct. 4.

Organizers of Crosslines, a local thrift store and food pantry, were shocked to learn that an after-hours visitor trashed the interior of a storage shed housing numerous donated goods, then took some items with her.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday, Aug. 19, took place at a storage shed behind Crosslines of McDonald County in Anderson. The suspect allegedly looked through items and then just trashed them in a huge pile.

The female intruder and the mess she left were caught on video surveillance.

Charges were filed by the McDonald County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
