Junior High Football Teams Defeat Cassville

The McDonald County junior high football teams picked up a pair of wins on Sept. 27 at Cassville.

In the eighth-grade game, Cross Dowd threw three touchdown passes to lead the Mustangs to a 24-18 win.

Dowd hit Jack Parnell (30 yards), Hunter Harris (25 yards) and Weston Gordon (26 yards) to account for the McDonald County scoring.

Seventh Grade

Destyn Dowd threw one touchdown pass and ran for another to lead McDonald County to a 30-22 win.

Sam Barton opened the scoring for the Mustangs with a 40-yard run, with Dowd running for the conversion. Kala Pa caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Dowd for the Mustangs' second TD.

Jordan Scholz added a 30-yard touchdown, with Dowd getting his second conversion before McDonald County closed out the scoring on Dowd's 48-yard run and Scholz's conversion.

Volleyball

The McDonald County seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball teams swept Monett on Sept. 27 in Monett.

In the seventh-grade game, the Lady Mustangs claimed a 25-19, 25-12 decision. The seventh-grade B team added a 25-17, 23-25, 25-14 win.

In the eighth-grade match, McDonald County defeated the Lady Cubs 25-15, 25-9 in the A match and 25-20, 25-16 in the B match.
