Staff Reports

On Friday, Oct. 19, White Rock eighth-grade students, along with teachers and staff Amy Dudley, Misty Ambrose, Taylor Walker and Jennifer Floyd, traveled to Jefferson City.

The students began their field-trip day with a tour of the State Archives at the Secretary of State's office, where they were personally greeted by Secretary of State John Ashcroft. Ashcroft gave an interesting presentation to the students about the state archives.

The students then toured the Capitol of Missouri, the historic State Penitentiary, and ended their day with a tour of the Supreme Court that included Judge Paul Wilson speaking with students, teachers and staff. Everyone had a great day learning about the different aspects of state government operations.
