Kansas man found dead

A Kansas man was found dead from a gunshot wound in rural McDonald County over the weekend.

According to Sheriff Michael Hall, on Sunday, March 18, deputies responded to a report of a deceased male at a local farm outside of Anderson.

Upon arrival, deputies located a 42-year-old white male, who was later identified as Michael Nash, of Columbus, Kan. He was pronounced deceased on-site and an investigation was opened.

Over the course of the investigation, it was determined that Nash had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest -- likely caused when a .22 caliber revolver fell from his pocket and discharged in his direction.

MCSO does not suspect foul play at this time.
