Two pre-teen cousins are in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle, just south of Noel on Saturday evening, March 10.
According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 12-year-old Tafadi Ruan, of Noel, and eight-year-old Olivia Kosmes, of Siloam Springs, Ark., were attempting to retrieve a ball that had rolled onto Highway 59 when they ran into traffic and were hit by a Chevrolet Suburban. The vehicle was traveling southbound, driven by John R. Ackerman, 77, of Sulphur Springs, Ark.
Both children were transported by helicopter to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
