White Rock firefighters soon will have new custom patches for the first time in history.

Assistant Fire Chief Fred Parker said the custom patches are almost finished and should arrive before the first week of July.

The fire department designed the patch through the online company, The Studio. Officials in Pineville recently utilized the company and recommended it to Parker. Several different options were available, and officials designed a specific patch for the department.

The patch features "White Rock Fire Rescue, Jane, Mo.," with an emblem of a fire, complete with a ladder and an ax. The colorful patch will be utilized by firefighters, who will have them sewn onto the uniforms.

Parker said anyone who would like a patch may also have one. Some people have collections and are interested in obtaining a patch. Donations are appreciated but not necessary, Parker said.

All donations will go to the gear equipment fund.

Anyone who would like a patch should message Parker through Facebook and include contact information.

Donations should be addressed to White Rock Fire Department, Attn: Fred Parker, P.O. Box 7, Jane, MO 64856.
