Paul Duane Beard, 64, of Southwest City, Mo., died Thursday, May 31, 2018, at his home.

He was born Oct. 11, 1953, in Broken Arrow, Okla., to E.C. and Lesteree (Cook) Beard. He spent his life caring for his parents and grandparents and was the owner and operator of "Paul's Cafe and Malt Shop" in Southwest City for over 30 years. He graduated from Nathan Hale High School, in Tulsa, Okla. in 1971.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lesterlee Beard; and grandparents, Gladys and Paul Cook.

Survivors include his father, E.C. Beard of Southwest City; and brother, Ernie Beard (Pam) of Amarillo, Texas.

A Memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Southwest City, with Brother Rob Grimm officiating. A private burial of the cremains will be held at a later date in the Southwest City Cemetery.

Louise Hobbs, 86, of Southwest City, Mo., died Friday, June 1, 2018, at her daughter's residence.

She was born on Oct. 3, 1931, in Noel, Mo., to Howard William and Anna May (Cantrell) Penn. She married Lester Hobbs on Dec. 15, 1948, in Pineville, Mo. She was a homemaker and worked in poultry farming for 20-plus years. She was of the RLDS faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester Hobbs; a child, Mary Jane Hobbs; five brothers, Chester Penn, Oscar Penn, Floyd Penn, Sherman Penn and Frank Penn; and four sisters, Ruby Murphy, Virgie Hobbs, Jane Murphy and Bonnie Penn.

Survivors include her children, Bill Hobbs (Lynn) of Thayer, Mo., Karen Tompkins (G.W.) of Southwest City, Patricia Bragg of Gentry, Ark., Tommy Hobbs (Pam) of Pineville, Mo.; twin brother, Louis Penn; sister, Freida Burnett; and nine grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018, at the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, officiated by Pastor Mark Kailbourn. Visitation was held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the Southwest City Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home.

Doris (Wright) Mathews passed away June 1, 2018, at the Earlene Howard Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale, Ark. She was born on March 1, 1938, in Springdale, Ark., to Doyle B. and Ruth (Cordes) Wright. She married the love of her life, Norman Mathews, on May 17, 1957.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Melvin and Tommy Wright; and sister, Margie Kendrick; and her loving husband of 55 years, Norman Mathews.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristi Rowe of Rogers, Ark.; two grandsons and two great-grandchildren, Matthew Rowe and wife Crystal and son Cody of Hindsville, Ark., and Daniel Rowe and wife Hayley and daughter Vanessa of Centerton, Ark.; one sister, Norma Glover; three brothers, Doyle JR., Ronald, and David Wright of Springdale; and several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Visitation was held on June 5, 2018, from 5-7 p.m. at the Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, Ark. The service was held on June 6, 2018, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel at the Rollins Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Bentonville Cemetery.
