Scattered showers couldn't dampen the fun at Anderson's Town Hole over the weekend as families and friends gathered for the annual Berries, Bluegrass and BBQ Festival. The festival pays homage to the rich strawberry farming history in the area. The region was once known as "the Strawberry Capital of the World."

In every direction, guests were seen savoring fresh-picked, locally-farmed strawberries and hot, smoky BBQ straight off the grill. Sounds of guitar, banjo, bass and fiddle filled the air as seven bluegrass bands took their turns on the stage, performing classic folk, country and gospel tunes for those in attendance.

Amid the carnival games, arts and crafts booths, leatherworking goods and pony rides, guests made time to watch crumbs fly in the notorious Donut Eating Contest and see the crowning of the Little Miss Strawberry contestants.

All proceeds from the festival benefit the Anderson Betterment Club's Playground Project -- a movement to expand and upgrade amenities at the various parks in town.
