Truck Pulled From Icy River

Reports from the Missouri Highway Patrol indicate the vehicle left Route H, between Pineville and Noel, and overturned into the waterway close to five hours earlier.

A white pickup truck was towed from the cold depths of the Elk River on Wednesday morning following a single-vehicle accident earlier that morning.

At approximately 5:45 a.m. on Jan. 10, Andrew Dunlay, 20, of Neosho, was traveling westbound on Route H in his 2004 Chevrolet when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned into the river, five miles west of Pineville.

According to a traffic crash report published by the Missouri Highway Patrol, Dunway received minor injuries but his vehicle was totalled.

Reports indicate Dunlay was not wearing a seatbelt.
