Meeting and New Year Potluck

The Jan. 11 meeting of the McDonald County Back to Basics (B2B) Community Group will begin with a potluck at 6:30 p.m. B2B resolves to eat hearty and healthy in 2018. Bring whatever fits that resolve, including main dishes, sides and desserts. Bring your own table service (plates, utensils) to conserve resources. Beverages will be furnished. The meeting is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the New Mac Community Room, old Highway 71 (north of the high school) in Anderson. This is a monthly meeting and held on every second Thursday.

Special Speaker

Chief Glenna Wallace, a great speaker and chief of the Eastern Shawnee tribes that have Indigo Sky, Bordertown, the Outpost and more, will be talking about her experiences as chief and the tribe's history.

Entertainment

To be determined.

Something New

Bring your spare change to contribute to the MCHS Marching Band's trip this year. It will be helpful with incidentals.

Donation

Please bring a canned or packaged food donation to be given to Crosslines (must be non-expired and non-dented). If everyone brought just one can, there would be 40 or 50 cans to help feed hungry folks. The drawing for the monthly door prize will continue, with one entry for each can or item of food donated.

The McDonald County Back to Basics Community Group (B2B) was formed in 2008 as a grass roots effort to combine education, information, community services and a social outlet to support each other in good times and bad. The activity is fun, free and open to all, including surrounding communities. For more information, call 417-845-0170.
