Goodman Aldermen Approve New Tires, Toolbox For Service Truck

Goodman City Council members voted to move ahead on Feb. 6 with completing items needed for a used service truck for the city.

In action at the regular Feb. 6 board of aldermen meeting, council members voted to purchase two new tires for the 2009 GMC Sierra truck the city recently purchased.

Aldermen approved the purchase of two tires for the truck at $180 each, in addition to a new toolbox for $300.

In other discussions, resident Sarah Morgan questioned UTVs in the city limits. After calling the Missouri Highway Patrol and the McDonald County Sheriff's Department, Morgan submitted a UTV permit proposal with an annual permit fee of $15 that includes yearly inspections.

Alderman Calvin Wilson noted that the city has an ordinance that is similar to the ordinance Morgan mentioned. Morgan said she has insurance and a red triangle on her UTV.

Mayor Greg Richmond said the Council will review the current ordinance to see if it needs to be revised.

During new business, Alderman Keith Kohley noted he talked to water clerk Dana Cornwell about the water bill deposit box leaking. He asked if the city could devise a way to cover the drop box when it rains. City Supervisor David Brodie said he would brainstorm some solutions.

Brodie also reported that the breaker box at the treatment plant needs to be replaced. Aldermen approved the cost for $257.40.

City council members also:

• Voted to Recia Clark's February water bill. Clark had a leak that is now fixed and asked that her water bill be averaged;

• Approved signing a letter of engagement from Nick Myers, CPA, to complete the 2017 city audit; and

• Approved bills in the amount of $43,461.08, including transfers.
