Elmina Cargile, 75, of Pineville, Mo., died Dec. 9, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark.

She was born July 4, 1943, in Mapleton, Kan., to Charles Clyde Reed and Leota Fay Jennings Reed. She attended the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed reading, sewing, word search puzzles and visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Cargile of the home; a son, Larry Bunch of Pineville; a daughter, Nita Cargile of Rogers; four brothers, Myron Reed (Cheryl) of Wakarusa, Kan., Avery Reed (Cheryl), Logan Reed (Linda) and Glaude Reed, all of Independence, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

Graveside service is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at King Cemetery in Seligman, Mo. Visitation is set for 5-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge, Ark.

Coin Earnest

Coin "Bud" Earnest, 95, of Anderson, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his children.

He was born Sept. 30, 1923, in Garfield, Ark., to William Tell and Nettie (Boyd) Earnest. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Crane Company in 1986.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Garvin Boyd, Ivy Autrey, Mildred Beaver and Marion Earnest; his wife, Helen Louise (Hughes) Earnest; an infant son, Michael L. Earnest; and his companion, Grace Green.

Survivors include his son, William Thomas Earnest; his daughters, Beth Trentham (Vern Gobble), Margy Kincy (Gene), Ellen Hoofard (Jim) and Kathy Earnest; and 16 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held graveside Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers, Ark.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are being directed to Hospice Compassus, 2650 E. 32nd Street, Suite 100, Joplin, MO 64804.

Hazel Irene Thurman

Hazel Irene Thurman, 75, of Pineville, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo., after a recent decline in health.

She was born July 12, 1943, in Chanute, Kan., to Cleo and Alice (Lacey) Laughlin. She has resided in McDonald County Missouri since 1954. On Aug. 4, 1961, she married Eugene Thurman. She was employed by Hudson Foods in Noel, Mo., and the Walmart warehouse in Bentonville, Ark. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting and gardening. She was a member of the Valley View Church in Pineville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Thurman; and two siblings, Doris Smith and Jack Trammell.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Eugene Thurman of the home; two sons, Tony Thurman (Rita) of Neosho, Mo., and Roger Thurman (Kathi) of Anderson, Mo.; four grandchildren; four sisters, Gladys Self of Cave Springs, Ark,, Jean Testerman of Anderson, Edna Mitchell of Greenfield, Mo. and Opal Hames of Goodman, Mo.; and brother, Vern Laughlin of Gravette, Ark.

Funeral services were held graveside Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at the Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, with Kevin Sammons officiating.
