Southwest City Senior Center's doors will be open to paradegoers prior to the festivities, from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday when the parade begins. Organizers will offer free coffee and hot chocolate to fight off the cold. Biscuits and gravy with side sausage will also be available for $3. Donations are welcome.

"Even if all they need is to warm up or use the restroom before the parade, come on over!" said Melissa Lance, Senior Center director. "While they're here, they can check out the building and what all we have to offer to our community."

Following the parade, families are invited to warm up in the Anne Croxdale Memorial Library and visit with Santa Claus. Santa will be distributing a free teddy bear and a free book to each good boy and girl on the "Nice List" that visits.

Santa will be in the library from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m., regardless of the temperature.

Organizers say "there will be enough Christmas cheer to make your bell jingle, so be sure to come and enjoy this holiday event at your local library."
