Stella Senior Center Dinner and Dance -- Aug. 10

The Stella Senior Center in Stella will host a dinner and dance on Friday evening, Aug. 10. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with salmon patties on the menu. The dance starts at 7 p.m., with "Evelyn and The Outriders" band. There is a $4 cover charge, and refreshments are available all evening. We welcome young dancers. Complimentary Eye Screening -- Aug. 15

Triad Eye Institute will provide a complimentary eye screening from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Southwest City Senior Center, located at 103 School Street in Southwest City. This screening is for those 55 and older. The screen test includes cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, dry eyes, external diseases of eyes and lids, and laser vision correction options. Pea Ridge National Military Park Artillery Program -- Aug. 18

Pea Ridge National Military Park will conduct Civil War artillery programs on Saturday, Aug. 18. Artillery demonstrations are scheduled for 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. behind the park visitor center. Pea Ridge NMP will be conducting these programs throughout the summer and early fall. Huckleberry Run -- Aug. 25

A Poker Run through the Ozarks to benefit the I'm your Huckleberry Animal Rescue is set for Aug. 25. All cars and motorcycles are welcome to participate. Cost is $15 per driver and $5 per passenger. The ride begins at the Walmart in Jane and ends at the Pineville Community Center. Registration begins at 8 a.m. on the south side of the Jane Walmart, with the first registered out at 9 a.m. and the last out at 10 a.m. A meal, ice cream, prizes for best and worst poker hands, silent auction and a drawing will be held at the Pineville Community Center. Jo Pearcy -- Aug. 26

The family of Jo Pearcy invites the Pineville community to a 90th birthday celebration from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Pineville Community Center. Bring hugs, no gifts.

Bella Vista Amateur Radio Club

The Bella Vista Amateur Radio Club holds monthly meetings at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Highland Christian Church in Bella Vista, Ark. The program focuses on competitive radio operating and the benefits for public service and emergency communications. For anyone interested in acquiring an amateur radio license, the club also administers FCC exams at 2 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month. All meetings and exams are held at Highland Christian Church, located at 1500 Forest Hills Blvd. (Highway 279), in Bella Vista.
