McDonald County Library celebrated National Library Week with area business leaders last Wednesday morning at the Anne Croxdale Memorial Library in Southwest City. The Library hosted its first Annual Business Leaders Breakfast to promote partnership between leaders in the community and the Library. Among those in attendance were business owners, school officials and city leaders.
After enjoying a catered breakfast, guests in attendance were enlightened by special guest speaker, Alice Snodgrass. Snodgrass has an assortment of library experience. She served on the McDonald County Library's Board of Trustees for 10 years before terming out in 2017. She has led an impressive career in education and retired after serving many years as the McDonald County High School librarian.
Snodgrass stated that "reading can significantly impact your ignorance," highlighting the fact that McDonald County Library's mission is to meet the educational, recreational, informational and cultural needs of the citizens of McDonald County through library materials and access to information through technology. In regard to the importance of partnership between libraries and community leaders, Snodgrass urged community leaders to support the Library as we all serve the common goal to build a stronger community.
