American Legion Benefit Dinner April 20

Pineville/Jane American Legion Post 392 will host a benefit dinner, with serving to begin at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 20. The dinner will be prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary and will feature pulled pork, potatoes,vegetable, salad, rolls, dessert and drinks. A donation of $7 for adults and $5 for children (10 and under) is requested. Everyone is welcome and carry-outs are available. The Legion building is located on Jessie James Road next to the Cornerstone Bank in Pineville.

Stella Senior Center Dance April 20

The Stella Senior Center will host a dinner and dance on Friday evening, April 20. Chicken spaghetti is on the menu, starting at 5:30 p.m. The dance starts at 7 p.m., with " The McDonald County Playboys" band. There is a cover charge of $4. Refreshments are available all evening. Cherokee of Arkansas and Missouri Tribe April 21

The Cherokee of Arkansas and Missouri Tribe District #10 will be meeting at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the Joplin Public Library located at 1901 E. 20th Street, Joplin, Mo. Bella Vista City-Wide Garage Sale April 27-28

The city of Bella Vista is sponsoring a city-wide garage sale April 27 and 28, with a rain date scheduled May 4 and 5. The city will partner with Bella Vista Neighbors, which runs a neighborhood program and website, to provide an online map of garage sales to help shoppers locate sales.

Joplin Museum Train Show and Swap Meet April 28

The Joplin Museum Complex will host a Train Show and Swap Meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, at the Joplin Museum Complex located at Seventh and Schifferdeker Streets in Schifferdeker Park between the pool and golf course in Joplin. Included will be model, collectible and antique electric trains. Also included will be operating layouts, collectible train memorabilia, and over 60 tables of items for sale. Admission is $3 per adult, and children under 12 will be admitted free. All proceeds at the door will benefit the Joplin Museum Complex. There will be door prizes on the hour. Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church Hosts Concert April 29

A concert hosted by Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church featuring "Better Day" will be held Sunday, April 29. There will be a covered-dish dinner beginning at 5 p.m. and the concert beginning at 6 p.m. Bethlehem Free Will Baptist is located at 20630 East Hwy. 76 in Rocky Comfort (4 miles east of Longview).

Southwest City's Old Timers Day May 5

Reserve a craft or vendor-booth space now for Southwest City's Old Timer's Day. Booth space is free. This event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 5, and is located on Main St. (next to the SWC Library) in Southwest City. Southwest City Commercial Club will host the annual Old Timer's Day parade at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 5. The parade is sponsored by the SWC Commercial Club and area businesses. Businesses, churches, youth groups, civic clubs, school groups and riding clubs are invited to participate in this year's parade. The parade will include floats, marching units, autos and many other categories. Plaques will be awarded to first-place winners in each of the parade divisions. Upon arrival to the parade, please check in with Misty by the American Legion building (across from the school) to pick up a lineup number. Everyone should be in their lineup position by noon. The parade begins promptly at 12:30 p.m. Contact parade chairman Misty Reece at 417-762-3497 for additional information or entry forms. Registration deadline is Thursday, April 26.

Hill-n-Hollow Master Gardeners annual plant sale May 5

The annual plant sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Newton County Extension Office located across from the Neosho Airport at 18728 Hwy. 59 in Neosho. The sale will include shrubs, young trees, bulbs, perennials, vegetables, herbs, annuals, grasses, ground covers, houseplants and other garden-related items. Shoppers should plan to arrive early for the best selection.

Anderson High School Alumni are hosting a reunion Saturday, May 19, at the River Ranch Resort, located at 101 River Rd. in Noel. Registration forms were mailed inside the newsletter. Times for the reunion are 12-5 p.m. Meet and Greet; 5-6 p.m., Business Meeting; 6-7 p.m., Dinner; 7-9 p.m., Dance with Max Brown. Noel All School Reunion June 2

The annual Noel all-school reunion will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Noel Elementary School. The all-school reunion is for everyone that ever attended Noel School. Everyone is asked to pass the information on to friends and family. There will be doughnuts and finger foods provided throughout the day, as well as coffee and water.
