On Thursday, April 5, Pineville Elementary eighth-grade students and their teachers, Jason Frencken, Melissa Sutherland and Jeremy Whittle, traveled to Jefferson City to visit with Representative Bill Lant, and toured several sites in the capital city.

The students were introduced on the House Floor by Rep. Lant, where they spent time viewing the members' debate from the upper gallery. Later, the students and teachers toured the historic Missouri State Penitentiary, followed by the Supreme Court, where they had an opportunity to visit with Judge Brent Powell.

Students and teachers concluded their day with a Capitol tour that included the House Chamber. Students and teachers enjoyed their full day of activities in the capital city.
