Junior High Baseball Teams Sweep Neosho

The McDonald County junior high baseball teams swept Neosho on April 5 at Neosho High School.

The eighth grade claimed a 16-1 decision behind the pitching of Bo Leach, Wyatt Habert and Lee Soshe. Leach pitched three innings of shutout ball before Habert allowed a run in the fourth and Soshe closed the game with a scoreless fifth.

Dylan Igisomar had three hits, scored three runs and drove in one to lead the offense. Levi Malone, Matthew Mora, Leach and Brandon Armstrong all had two hits. Leach also drove in four runs and scored two while Malone scored two runs and drove in one.

Cole Martin had a hit and drove in two runs, while Soshe had a hit and drove in three.

Weston Gordon pitched three innings and had three hits to lead the seventh grade to a 9-1 win.

Braxton Spears, worked the final two innings, had four hits and scored four runs. Fischer Sanny and Isaac Behm had two hits each, while Sammy Heruth, Coty Dumond and Jackson Parnell had one hit each.

Providence Academy

Levi Helm allowed one run in four innings but took the loss in the eighth grade's 1-0 loss to Providence Academy of Rogers, Ark., on April 3 at MCHS.

Eli Jackson went one-third of an inning before Wyatt Jordan got the final two outs in the fifth.

Igisomar and Mora each had a hit for the Mustangs only two hits of the game.

The seventh grade claimed a 5-0 win behind the shutout pitching of Behm, who went four innings, and Parnell, who worked one inning of scoreless relief.

Heruth had three hits and Spears added two to lead the offense. Sanny, Gordon and Dumond added one hit each.

The eighth grade is now 1-1-1 for the season, while the seventh grade is 3-0 and the combined seventh/eighth team is 4-0.

McDonald County's next game is the seventh-grade tournament in Grove on April 13-14. The teams split up on April 16 to face Wyandotte at MCHS.
